The Library

The Library is the studio’s memory: every project you have ever created and every file you have ever brought in, indexed and searchable. Open it from the Library toggle at the top of Home.

The list

Each row shows the poster, the name, the kind (“Manuscript Project”), the date, and an info button that opens the same More info card as on Home. The bottom bar counts items and selections; the Library supports selecting several at once.

The left rail

  • Plus: Create folder, New project, Upload. Or just drag files from your computer onto the list.
  • Search: filters live as you type; the most relevant result floats to the top.
  • Filter and Sort: same options as Home.

Row menu (right-click)

Open · Open in split · Open as folder · More info · Rename (or press F2) · Edit Poster · Copy (Cmd+C) · Cut (Cmd+X) · Move to trash (or press Delete). Open as folder expands a project into its parts: the drafts, and everything on the Plan.

Files open in a reader

Double-click a Word document or PDF and it opens in a clean reader, for consulting, not editing. Skrib drafts open in the editor. This is the one distinction worth memorizing: the Library is for reference. When you want to write in a manuscript, import it as a Draft (chapter 13). When you want Companion to read something, the Library is exactly where it belongs.

Handwriting

Drop a photo of a handwritten page into the Library and Skrib reads it into editable type next to the original. The OCR pass is still being tuned, and search across handwritten notes is in development.
